Credit, debit card, and online payments are accepted securely. Payment is due at the time of service.  

Sliding-scale rates may be available based on individual circumstances and availability. Please contact Next Steps Counseling for additional information.

Now Accepting Alabama Medicaid!

Next Steps Counseling is pleased to accept Alabama Medicaid for eligible counseling services.

Medicaid Referral Requirements: A physician referral is required for Medicaid clients prior to receiving counseling services. However, a referral is not required to schedule an appointment. Physicians may submit referrals directly to Next Steps Counseling using either of the following methods: Email: nextstepscounseling101@gmail.com or Fax: 251-319-4391. Please note: Referrals must be received before counseling services are provided. We encourage clients to schedule their appointments while their physician completes the referral process. We also welcome self-pay clients and offer a sliding fee scale to help make counseling more accessible. We are currently working toward accepting additional insurance plans in the near future. Contact us to learn more about payment options, insurance eligibility, and scheduling.
